Background
I was first introduced to riichi mahjong through a mahjong club at university, which sparked my interest and led me to explore different local mahjong groups. As I learned more about the competitive scene, I came across the World Riichi Championship in 2025 and became interested in getting involved and testing myself against stronger players. I participated in my first tournament in 2024, and playing riichi mahjong at a higher, more competitive level made the game even more fascinating to me. Since then, I have been motivated to continue improving and to compete at a professional level, with the goal of participating in international tournaments such as the WRC.
